A nursing home tour checklist for families

Make the visit about the person who will live there
Start with what matters to your family member: familiar routines, favorite foods, language, privacy or time outdoors. Ask them which questions they want answered. A welcoming lobby is only one part of the visit; ask to see the spaces they would actually use.
Turn promises into specific follow-up questions
Ask for examples, a named contact and written information you can compare later. If an answer is unclear, leave that item unchecked and follow up. A checked box means you asked the question; it is not a quality score or an endorsement.
