How we’re paid
How Nana’s List is paid
Short version: right now, nobody pays us. Families use Nana’s List for free, and so do facilities.

What’s true today
- Facilities currently pay us nothing. Listing, claiming a profile and receiving tour requests are free.
- We take no referral fees and no commissions. We aren't paid when a family tours or moves in.
- Nana's grade and every sort order on the site ignore payment. Lists sort by things like Medicare stars, family reviews, price or name. The grade compares your quiz answers with facility facts: care types, specialties, payment types accepted, price, Medicare ratings and CMS warning flags.
- When you request a tour, your details go only to the one facility you picked. We don't sell them or pass them to other facilities, agencies or advisors.
- Medicare ratings, inspection records and CMS warnings show for every facility, claimed or not. Facilities can't edit or hide them.
If we ever add paid features
We may one day offer paid features to facilities. If we do, these rules apply:
- Any paid placement is labelled Sponsored wherever it appears.
- Payment never changes a facility’s Nana’s grade or its position in a sorted list.
- Payment never hides or edits a facility’s Medicare (CMS) ratings, inspections, fines or warning flags.
- Payment never lets a facility remove a family review. They can reply publicly, like anyone else.
- We’ll update this page before anything changes.
For transparency: our listings already have a “sponsored” setting that only our team can switch on. It adds a visible Sponsored label and does nothing else. As of September 29, 2026, no published listing uses it.
Why we’re saying this
Many “free” senior-living referral services are paid by the facilities they recommend, often a fee tied to a month’s rent when a family moves in. That isn’t hidden, but it’s easy to miss. We think you should know exactly who pays for any site you use.
